| Abstract: | La educación en México ha experimentado un largo proceso de secularización. No obstante, en el caso de la educación sexual, este proceso se ha visto obstaculizado por grupos conservadores vinculados a la Iglesia católica que pugnan por evitar que se imparta esta educación a menores de edad bajo un enfoque laico. El objetivo de este artículo es sistematizar los momentos en los que estos grupos se han manifestado a través de acciones concretas de oposición a largo del siglo XX y principios del XXI, así como ponderar el impacto que han tenido estas acciones en el proceso de secularización de la educación a fin de asentar la responsabilidad del Estado en lo que respecta a limitar la intervención de estos actores en la definición de políticas y contenidos de educación sexual para garantizar su carácter laico y científico. |
| Description: | Education in Mexico has experimented a long process of secularization. Nevertheless, in the case of sexuality education, this process has been obstructed by conservative groups related to the Catholic Church that have fought to impede the teaching of sex education from a secular standpoint to minors. The aim of this article is to systematize the moments in which in which these groups have manifested their opposition through concrete actions during the 20th-21st century, and ponder the impact of this opposition in the process of secularization of education in order to stablish the responsibility of the State to limit the intervention of these social actors in the definition of sexuality education policies and contents, thus warranting its secular and scientific nature. |
