movimientos corporales.
Descripción:
The objective of this paper is to characterize the teacher's knowledge when teaching
mathematical functions, specifically linear and quadratic, in an inclusive classroom with
students with hearing impairment. This interest arose because the discrimination, inequality and
invisibility with which people with disabilities live is becoming more and more notorious. One
of the various aspects that emerges from this situation is the analysis of the teacher's knowledge;
in the search for research on the subject, as a major problem we found the lack of training and
the lack of tools that teachers had to face situations of this type. With the aforementioned, the
following question arises: What is the knowledge put into action by the teacher when teaching
mathematical functions in an inclusive classroom with students with hearing impairment at the
high school level? In order to answer the question, we intend to characterize this knowledge
through the triangulation of the Mathematics Teacher's Specialised Knowledge (MTSK) and
Universal Design for Learning (DUA) models. Likewise, in order to achieve the objective, it is
imperative to study the teaching practice exercised by the teacher and the knowledge manifested
during this process. Therefore, the interpretive paradigm is considered the most appropriate for
the development of the research, because it seeks to understand the relationship between the
elements mentioned above; for this reason, we consider our study to be qualitative in nature,
since the purpose is to understand and interpret the specialized knowledge used by the teacher
facing an inclusive classroom with deaf students.
In qualitative research, the method determines the path to follow to carry out the research.
Therefore, for the development of the research, it has been determined that the method will be
the intrinsic case study, because it is one that examines a unique case with the aim of providing
more information on a specific topic in particular or other aspect. Finally, as a technique for data
collection, observation is used as the primary instrument, and the interview and questionnaire
as secondary ones.
Finally, as results, the knowledge that the teacher puts into action is obtained, where it is
evidenced more frequently in mathematical knowledge and the implementation of inclusive
practices such as multiple forms of communication and interaction within the classroom such
as Mexican Sign Language (LSM), written language, illustrations, gesticulation and body
movements.
