| Abstract: | Las ordenanzas para poblar tierras tenían larga vigencia y se utilizaban como modelo legal para ello; las emitidas por Felipe II, el 13 de julio de 1573, en el bosque de Segovia, eran un instrumento idóneo para fundar poblaciones. La revisión de éstas es posible relacionarla con el poblamiento novohispano de Fresnillo que inició, según las fuentes conocidas hasta ahora, en noviembre de 1566,primero en las minas de San Demetrio y luego en Fresnillo |
| Description: | The ordinances for settling lands had a long validity and were used as a legal model for this purpose; those issued by Felipe II on July 13, 1573, in the forest of Segovia, were an ideal instrument for founding towns. The revision of these ordinances can be linked to the settlement of Fresnillo in New Spain, which, according to the sources known to date, began in November 1566, first in the San Demetrio mines and then in Fresnillo. |
