| Abstract: | La presente tesis analiza la novela Caín del escritor portugués José Saramago, el cual se le ha caracterizado por escribir temas polémicos por sus referentes políticos y en este caso dando una versión poco ortodoxa del personaje bíblico Caín. Con base en las teorías de Carl Gustav Jung, y las herramientas que propone Joseph Campbell y Christopher Vogler se trata de desentrañar los personajes expuestos en esta novela, como también volcarnos en la narratología de Saramago. Con la ayuda del esquema del viaje del héroe se dará a conocer el proceso que tuvo Caín y la revaloración que se propone, comprendiendo así la versión un tanto hermética y gnóstica del autor. Además, se hará un análisis simbólico del mito bíblico de Caín y Abel escrito en el antiguo testamento, y una comparación de personajes con la novela expuesta. |
| Description: | This thesis analyzes the novel Cain by the Portuguese writer José Saramago, who has been characterized for writing controversial issues due to his political references and in this case giving an unorthodox version of the biblical character Cain. Based on the theories of Carl Gustav Jung, and the tools proposed by Joseph Campbell and Christopher Vogler, it is about unraveling the characters exposed in this novel, as well as turning to Saramago's narratology. With the help of the scheme of the hero's journey, the process that Cain had and the revaluation that is proposed will be revealed, thus understanding the somewhat hermetic and gnostic version of the author. In addition, there will be a symbolic analysis of the biblical myth of Cain and Abel written in the Old Testament, and a comparison of characters with the exposed novel. |
