Resumen:
La presente tesis propone que las Novelas de formación femenina (NFF) de Belli,
Esquivel y Nettel, conforman la identidad femenina a través de los elementos del
cuerpo, la sexualidad y los afectos. Un acercamiento contextual permite relacionar
a las autoras entre sí y determinar los momentos históricos relevantes para sus
obras. Se contrasta el concepto del Bildungsroman y el de Novela de formación, en
sus distintas traducciones y cómo se emplea en Hispanoamérica. Se aborda el
arquetipo del héroe en la Novela de formación masculina (NFM) y su
correspondencia con el arquetipo de heroína de la NFF. Se analiza, además, las
principales diferencias entre NFF y NFM. Se abordan generalidades de las tres
novelas, sus aspectos literarios y el viaje de la heroína que emprende cada
protagonista. Para ello se integran las propuestas de J. Campbell y M. Murdock, con
la finalidad de sintetizar los pasos del viaje más relevantes para las obras.

This thesis proposes that the Novels of Female Formation (NFF) by Belli, Esquivel,
and Nettel shape feminine identity through elements of the body, sexuality, and
emotions. A contextual approach allows us to relate the authors to each other and
determine the historical moments relevant to their works. The concept of the
Bildungsroman and the Novel of Formation are contrasted, in their different
translations and how they are used in Hispanoamérica. The archetype of the hero in
the Novel of Male Formation (NFM) and its correspondence with the heroine
archetype of the NFF are addressed. The main differences between NFF and NFM
are also analyzed. Generalities of the three novels, their literary aspects, and the
heroine's journey undertaken by each protagonist are addressed. To this end, the
proposals of J. Campbell and M. Murdock are integrated, with the aim of synthesizing
the most relevant steps of the journey for the works
