dc.description	Stress is currently a public health problem that is affecting considerably the development of many potentials of the human being, without leaving behind the physical and psychological repercussions that arise from the same maladjustments. Stress is a subject that must be studied for the effect it has at any stage of human development and for its multiple links with the psychological well-being and health of individuals. Children are especially vulnerable and have a very different vision of the world than we have as adults. The ability to handle stressful situations depends on the coping resources available. These resources play a crucial role in the health-illness stress relationship and constitute stable characteristics of the individual and the environment in which it operates. Therefore, the objective of this research is to identify if there are differences in the levels and styles of coping with stress in childhood. The sample consisted of 100 participants, 50 men and 50 women. Two instruments were applied: the Children's Inventory of Daily Stressors (IIEC), Trianes, et al. (2009) and the Coping Scale for Children (EAN), Morales-Rodríguez, et al. (2012). The results show statistically significant differences in the use of coping strategies (styles) between girls and boys.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	El estrés, en la actualidad, es un problema de salud pública que está afectando considerablemente el desarrollo de muchos potenciales del ser humano, sin dejar atrás las repercusiones físicas y psicológicas que surgen por los mismos desajustes. El estrés es un tema que debe ser estudiado por el efecto que tiene en cualquier etapa del desarrollo humano y por sus múltiples vínculos con el bienestar psicológico y la salud de los individuos. Los niños son especialmente vulnerables y tienen una visión muy distinta del mundo de la que tenemos los adultos. La habilidad para manejar situaciones estresantes depende de los recursos de afrontamiento disponibles. Estos recursos desempeñan un rol crucial en la relación estrés salud-enfermedad y constituyen características estables del individuo y del medio ambiente donde se desenvuelve. Por tanto el objetivo de esta investigación es identificar si existen diferencias en los niveles y estilos de afrontamiento al estrés en la niñez. La muestra se constituyo de 100 participantes, 50 hombres y 50 mujeres. Se aplicaron dos instrumentos: el Inventario Infantil de Estresores Cotidianos (IIEC), Trianes, et al. (2009) y la Escala de afrontamiento para Niños (EAN), Morales-Rodríguez, et al. (2012). Los resultados muestran diferencias estadísticamente significativas en el uso de estrategias (estilos) de afrontamiento entre niñas y niños.	es_ES
