This seven-part essay studies the question of the subject from the crisis of metaphysics in modern times, starting from Nietzsche and leading to the tragic conception of existence. The tragic is irremovable because there is no instauration without violence; it is all that exists in the exact extent that points to a splintered totality. This is the modern idea of the subject, which since Descartes shows a deep fissure in its constitution and which reaches up to contemporary authors. From Heidegger to Jacques Derrida and Jean-Luc Nancy, the subject is that singularity that allows the appropriation of an otherness. This is a critique of such an approach.
