dc.descriptionThe present work was elaborated based on the analysis and hermeneutics of primary and secondary sources. The historical cartography related to the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro had different stages and evolutions, with historical antecedents from a so-called western and viceregal geographic culture. The enormous cartographic production ranges from important and representative pieces made in Europe and New Spain, to the sketches and plans that served to illustrate legal disputes over the possession and tenure of land and water. Conveniently and only for the present work, some pieces of a cartography called “major” and “minor” are reviewed; the examples are related to the main enclave of Zacatecas.en_US
dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo fue elaborado con base en el análisis y hermenéutica de fuentes primarias y secundarias. La cartografía histórica relacionada con el Camino Real de Tierra Adentro tuvo diferentes etapas y evoluciones, con antecedentes históricos desde una llamada cultura geográfica occidental y virreinal. La ingente producción cartográfica va desde importantes y representativas piezas elaboradas en Europa durante el siglo xvi, hasta los croquis y planos que sirvieron para ilustrar litigios judiciales sobre la posesión y tenencia de tierras y aguas en la Nueva España. De manera conveniente, y sólo para el presente trabajo, se revisan algunas piezas de una cartografía denominada como “mayor” y “menor”; los ejemplos están relacionados con el enclave principal de Zacatecas.
