| dc.description | The works and thought of the Russian composer and pianist Alexander Skriabin marked a watershed moment in the development of classical music in the frontier of the 19th and 20th centuries. His mystical and philosophical theory, -an enigmatic aspect of his work that is currently gaining public interest-, is the general objective of this research, given the importance this intellectual and practical construction has in the composer’s creative process. For the same reason, an attempt has been made to locate a center that logically structures the musician’s body of philosophical and mystical beliefs. With this objective, the historicalcultural context of the composer, his formative process, interests and subjective baggage have been identified and exhaustively analyzed, as well as the tendencies and foreign doctrines from which he directly or indirectly took inspiration, incorporating them not only into his daily work, but also in his personal life. The interdisciplinary bias of this research has made it necessary to carry out a comparative study among the data points found on Skriabin derived from different areas of knowledge (musicology, philosophy, history, etc.), many of them inaccurate, almost all of them disparate, and from the bibliographic sources already published, most are mainly musicologically oriented and mostly written in Russian. This thesis was born from this comparison of materials, the detailed analysis of their contents and the consequent critical reflection, with the sole purpose of serving as an elucidatory synthesis of one of the most enigmatic, particular and suggestive contemporary creators of the musical West. | en_US |
| en_US |
