| dc.description | Sustainability is based on the consideration of strategies that promote the well-being and quality of life of people, which are related to caring for the environment since it affects well-being and human life. Since its establishment in colonial times, the Michoacán orchards were considered by Vasco de Quiroga as sustainable units from which trade and farming were promoted, in addition to promoting happiness for the people. This article comes from the Project for the reactivation of orchards on the banks of the Lerma river, which is based on a proposal to promote food sovereignty based on traditional practices or knowledge that population that inhabits the region still possesses, but which are at risk of being lost. According to the analysis of the landscape and the cultural history of La Piedad, it can be noted that several communities or rancherías practiced river horticulture, so they can benefit from initiatives to promote and rescue heritage, specifically this one that seeks from the traditional knowledge recovered by interviews with former gardeners, reactivate orchads as a sustainability strategy. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | La sustentabilidad se basa en la consideración de estrategias que promuevan el bienestar y la calidad de vida de las personas, las cuales van en relación del cuidado del medio ambiente puesto que éste afecta al bienestar y a la vida humana. Desde su instauración en la época colonial, las huertas michoacanas fueron consideradas por Vasco de Quiroga como unidades sustentables desde las cuales se impulsaba el comercio y la labranza, además de promover la felicidad de la gente. El presente documento surge del Proyecto de reactivación de huertas en las riberas del Lerma que se basa en una propuesta para impulsar la soberanía alimentaria a partir de prácticas o saberes tradicionales que la población que habita la región aún posee, pero que están en riesgo de perderse. Conforme al análisis del paisaje y a la historia cultural de La Piedad, puede destacarse que, varias comunidades o rancherías practicaron la horticultura de río por lo que éstas pueden beneficiarse de las iniciativas de promoción y rescate del patrimonio, específicamente ésta que busca, a partir de los saberes tradicionales recuperados por entrevistas con antiguos hortelanos, reactivar las huertas como una estrategia de sustentabilidad. | en_US |
