Vouillamoz, Ted Nelson, Peeter Torop, Jean-Marie Klinkenberg y Bernat Castany Prado.
This paper analyzes the censorship exercised by the Holy Office during the colonial period, using
the work Syzygies and Lunar Quadratures, written by Manuel Antonio de Rivas, as a case study.
The study begins with the historical context in which the Inquisition functioned as a mechanism
of ideological and doctrinal control, tasked with monitoring the circulation of ideas considered
contrary to Catholic dogma. The research focuses on the reinterpretation and narrative
transposition of this work into a hypermedia digital environment, considering the possibilities
offered by cyberliterature and interactive narrative for rescuing forgotten historical texts. From
this perspective, the research proposes recovering the political, social, historical, and literary value of the work by adapting it to multimodal digital formats that integrate text, image, sound,
and interaction. To this end, theoretical frameworks on hypertext, hypermedia, and intersemiotic
translation developed by authors such as Núria Vouillamoz, Ted Nelson, Peeter Torop,
Jean-Marie Klinkenberg, and Bernat Castany Prado are employed. Finally, the project envisions
the use of Ren'Py software as a technical tool to materialize the digital adaptation, allowing the
construction of an accessible and coherent interactive narrative experience in accordance with
the principles of contemporary hypermedia.
