Resumen:
La catedral zacatecana se erige como un testimonio de la fusión entre la historia, el arte
y la espiritualidad que definieron la Nueva España. Contribuye: al rescate del patrimonio cultural
virreinal de la evangelización en la Gran Chichimeca. Introducción: el presente constituye un
análisis visual del esfuerzo de los escultores. Metodología: Revisión bibliográfica, hemerográfica y
otras fuentes que se han publicado. Con este estudio inédito hemos encontrado nuevos hallazgos a
través de la Historia del Arte. Objetivo general: El interés principal es que se conozcan estas obras
escultóricas de arte sacro. Objetivo específico: Incorporado al anterior, para comprender y valorar
el arte mestizo y europeo. Resultados y discusión: Después de reflexionar sobre esta
ornamentación religiosa, como una alabanza a Jesucristo y la Virgen María, a través de los pasajes
bíblicos. Conclusión: Cuya veneración trascendió fronteras gracias a la evangelización. A través del
análisis de esculturas, pinturas y ornamentos arquitectónicos.

The cathedral stands as a testament to the fusion of history, art, and spirituality that defined
New Spain. It contributes to the preservation of the viceregal cultural heritage of evangelization in the
Gran Chichimeca. Introduction: This study presents a visual analysis of the sculptors'
efforts. Methodology: Bibliographic and newspaper review, along with other published sources.
Through this unprecedented study, we have discovered new findings in Art History. General
Objective: The main interest is to make these sacred art sculptures known. Specific
Objective: Complementing the previous one, to understand and appreciate both mestizo and
European art. Results and Discussion: After reflecting on this religious ornamentation as praise to
Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary through biblical passages. Conclusion: Whose veneration
transcended borders thanks to evangelization, through the analysis of sculptures, paintings, and
architectural ornaments.
