| dc.description | In this investigation, the contemporary bilingual educational system that is aimed at the basic-level student body from the primary school “Día del Maestro”, located in the Nahua community of El Sitio, Chicontepec, Veracruz, is closely examined. The parameters of the objective are the description and documentation of the bilingual course program (Spanish- Nahuatl), and how it directly attributes to the human development of the student body. In the same manner, it focuses on describing in detail the revitalization of the linguistic identity from the legal and cultural perspective, and also the parental interaction in the setting of bilingual learning for a more fruitful academic learning. The investigation has a qualitative focus, with the ethnographic design in accord to McLeod and Thomson (2009) and Patton (2002) cited by Hernandez, Hernandez and Baptista (2014). The methods used was that of a series of comprehensive interviews, such as audios and photographs. The use of a case study is for the purpose of colleting the most precise information possible in reference to bilingualism (Spanish-Nahuatl). Within the results, important details were unveiled relative to monolingual students and taking better advantage in the Spanish language. Therefore, the Nahuatl language is the focal point and the language of teaching, which consequently displays the absence and need of didactic material in said language. In result, professors are faced with the great challenge of recovering the linguistic identity of the monolingual students in the aforementioned school, and to further add, the absence of academic reform is noted within the legal framework for linguistic rights for the native populations. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | En esta investigación se estudia el contexto actual del sistema educativo bilingüe dirigido a la población estudiantil de nivel básico de la escuela primaria “Día del Maestro”, el cual se encuentra en la comunidad nahua de El Sitio, Chicontepec, Veracruz. Como objetivo se tiene la descripción y documentación de la enseñanza actual del bilingüismo (español-náhuatl), y cómo este último retribuye directamente en el desarrollo humano de la comunidad estudiantil. Del mismo modo, se enfoca en detallar la revitalización de la identidad lingüística desde el marco legal, cultural y la interacción de los padres en la enseñanza bilingüe para un mejor aprovechamiento académico. El trabajo de investigación tiene enfoque cualitativo, con el diseño etnográfico de acuerdo a McLeod y Thomson (2009) y Patton (2002) citado por Hernández, Hernández y Baptista (2014). Se usó la técnica de la entrevista a profundidad, así como de audio y fotografía. Se realiza estudio de caso para lograr una información más precisa del bilingüismo (español-náhuatl). Dentro de los resultados se encontraron datos relevantes de alumnos monolingües y mejor aprovechamiento en la lengua castellana. Por consiguiente, se tiene a la lengua náhuatl como asignatura y lengua de instrucción visibilizando la falta de actualización de materiales didácticos en dicho idioma. Por lo que resulta un desafío de gran magnitud de los docentes el recuperar la identidad lingüística de los educandos monolingües de la escuela antes ya mencionada, aunado a ello se suma la falta de actualización académica en el marco legal de los derechos lingüísticos de los pueblos originarios. | en_US |
