diferente: cooperativo, colaborativo y autodidacta.
The use of MALL (Mobile Assisted Language Learning) has exponentially increased during
the last decade due to the great technological advances of the new digital era. Therefore, the
field of research needs to constantly update itself regarding the use of apps and software
designed for language learning through smart devices. The purpose of this research project
is to determine if it is possible to learn idioms in German through the HelloTalk app and, if
so, which learning model best facilitates this process. To achieve this objective, a six-week
experiment was conducted with three groups of students (five students per group) from a
German language academy. Each group used the app guided by three different learning
models: cooperative, collaborative, and self-taught. Throughout the course, data was
collected using diagnostic and progressive tests, as well as observation based on predefined
categories of analysis. Each of these categories of analysis is related to each of the
implemented learning models in order to quantify the achievement levels of the students.
After performing a correlational statistical analysis between the learning models and the
acquisition of the idioms, it was discovered that the cooperative learning model showed better
results compared to the other models.
